Course Description
This course traces the history of the United States from the end of Reconstruction to the present. Topics include western expansion and the impact on the frontier; the growth and development of an industrial economy; responses to industrialization; reform and the meaning of American democracy; the United States and World War I; the 1920s, the Depression and the New Deal; World War II; and the United States since 1945.
