Fundamentals of Immunohematology

Course Description

This course is a study of the fundamental principles and laboratory techniques of immunohematology, and their use in clinical practice. It will focus on antigen/antibody interaction in relation to transfusion and donor services, pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical risk management, and the role of the medical laboratory technician in providing effective transfusion services. Lectures and student laboratories are included.
