Course Description

This course, State and Local Government, is designed to familiarize students with the governance structure at the state and local levels. It is also focused on the decision-making processes at those levels of government and the ways in which these entities interact with the national government. A primary emphasis of the course will be a comparative approach with a view toward understanding policy outcomes at all levels of government. Specific attention will be focused on education, criminal justice, health/welfare, environment, and economic development.
