Introduction to Horticultural Plants

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

develop safe practices in the horticulture workplace, including an understanding of basic first aid procedures used in treating common landscape injuries.

describe the physiological process of plant growth and recognize nutrient deficiencies in plants.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

explain the basic principles of plant genetics including the process of reproduction in plants as well as the basic principles and techniques of asexual and sexual propagation.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

analyze how environmental factors affect plant growth.
