Acquisition of Library Materials

Course Description

Introduces the Library Technical Assistant to the process of how to acquire materials, both print and non-print, from the decision to obtain them to the time they are ready to be cataloged. Automation processes and techniques are incorporated. Topics covered include bibliographic search tools, ordering, receiving and accounting procedures, selection policy, copyright, and automation.
