Course Description

This course is an introductory treatment of the study of motion, atomic structure, heat, sound, electricity and light. This course studies the societal impact of contemporary issues such as energy, health, environment, and other applications of physics, and how they relate to everyday life. An attempt is made to relate directly the physical concepts to the major fields of study represented in the class. This course is designed for students in some of the applied science programs as a general education course for students in the non-science transfer programs. This is a foundations course for students strengthening their science background before enrolling in one of the physics sequences.
