Fundamentals of Radiography I

Course Description

This course is designed to introduce students to radiography and the role of the radiographer as a member of the health care team. Students become familiar with procedures to be followed when working with ionizing radiation and concepts of patient care. Anatomy and terminology of body systems related to the performance of imaging procedures of the chest, abdomen, GI tract, and upper extremity are also presented, with emphasis on positioning and image analysis. This course also provides a fundamental background in ethics and introduction to legal principles and professional standards.
