Applied Clinical Experience II

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

demonstrate honesty, integrity, respect for authority, and strictly follow all clinical institution compliance policies.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

communicate effectively with all parties, demonstrate self confidence and make effort for improvement, and consult with clinical instructors on all unusual findings or deviations.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

utilize critical thinking, reasoning, and effective communication to recognize, investigate, and resolve problems, discrepancies, or results requiring additional testing, in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

review materials presented in the MLT program courses and be prepared to discuss the subject matter with the clinical instructor during the rotations.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

perform all quality control, troubleshooting, and maintenance when necessary and in accordance with SOPs.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

apply the principles of laboratory safety in all laboratory work performance.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

transport, process, and utilize all specimens according to SOPs for each department, including special transport considerations and evaluating the specimens for acceptability.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

exhibit the technical skills, knowledge, and professional attitudes necessary to obtain a satisfactory evaluation at each clinical rotation site.
