Fundamentals of Immunology and Serology

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

describe the function of the immune mechanism in maintaining health and in disease states.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

explain the principle of molecular technology and its diagnostic applications in medical laboratory.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

develop and display positive professional behaviors.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

apply principles of laboratory safety in all laboratory work performance.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

explain the principles of agglutination, flocculation, precipitation, neutralization, and labeled immunoassays and perform basic screening procedures utilizing these principles.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

describe selected immune disorders and the use of serologic procedures to aid in diagnosis.
