Advanced Clinical Hematology

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

explain the normocytic, macrocytic, and microcytic anemias.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

describe and discuss the basic mechanisms of coagulation/hemostasis.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

describe the common hematological disease processes.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

identify and describe morphology found in infectious mononucleosis.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

describe and classify white blood cell disorders, in both non-malignancy and malignancy.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to

examine blood smears accurately by differentiating white blood cells, describing the morphology of red cells, white cells, and platelets; and estimating the cell counts.
